Babl Kitchen & Bath

In our first “branding objectives” meeting Dan told me that what was really important for people to know about his business was that 1. they were a family owned and operated company and 2. that they offer help all the way through the process of re-doing your kitchen or bathroom.

We wanted to do the “Family” spot a bit differently then we often see… and Babl Kitchen & Bath truly is a family operated company.  So we decided to highlight the family members and what they do. We wanted to see Kyle and Kay working with their father in their environment.  We wanted to see, as Dan put it “some saw dust flying.” I think that really gets to the heart of what Babl Kitchen and Bath is all about…they really love what they do:)

When we were shooting and I saw the “working” shot coming together, rack focusing from Dan at the circular saw to his son at the work bench, I called Annie over to look and we knew this was the heart of the spot:)

There is a lot going on in this spot, several times we have three or four tiles up on screen… we worked really hard to make sure it flowed.  We wanted the information to be there when you wanted to see it and then disappear when it would start to be “clutter.” great care was taken to try to have cuts happen to the music so that the song could help reinforce the changes and help the mind predict when to pay attention. We also had to place the tiles carefully as some layouts proved to be very jarring.

We were very happy with the end plate… not only does it tie in the graphical theme of the “video tiles” but since the pictures are obviously not from the job we have been following, it brings  this particular customer’s experience into a collage of other beautifully completed rooms and gives you a sense of the wealth of experience you will find at Babl Kitchen & Bath.  This is another job well done as it were…

Anyone can say “we are a family company” but we wanted to show what that means for the Babl’s. Hopefully, if you go into Babl Kitchen & Bath you will already feel like you know them a little, and not just what they do:)
